my honest opinion. i don't think people that are out to make a quick buck should own pitbulls cause they are the ones giving them the bad image cause they are just out to make a fast buck and not care where the dogs go. such as good homes and people who are just gonna get them for illegal reasons. me i treat my dogs like if they were my kids. feed them well spend time with them and socialize them. honestly you don't need to train these dogs to protect because they can feel when to be protective and who to trust. they are just doing what they were bred and born to do give their owners all the love and we gotta do the same in return. i don't breed dogs because to many will just end up in shelters and be put to sleep. so i own them because they are great dogs so down with bad breeders and peddlers. like they say punish the deed not the breed.

I think people see what the breed sales for online and think "o all I have to do is buy a pup and for this price and breed him or her and make my my money back off just breeding my dogs" they dont take the time out thats need to understand what they are doing and why all they see is $$ thats why so many dogs end up in the wrong hands, how true breeder have a breeding program? and then you have breeders out there that just do BIG NAME BREEDINGS because they have the money to do it and thats the most popular male or female out at the time, I thought we did breeding to improve the breed? It's cool to make money off what we are doing and I can say most of the money I see is put back in to my dogs first they are the ones who helped me.....

Im young myself, yet know alot about the breed and proper handling. I really cant stand to see people my age or younger mistreating and not handling their dgs correctly. It just makes me so mad that these people are just allowed to ruin OUR breed and make it harder for the people who really do care.

Pit bulls are the best breeds in the world. I have own 5 dogs, a mutt, a german shepperd, a husky, and two pit bulls. There is no other breed thats so loyal, faithful, and a clown, like a true pit bull. When I was younger and living in the country, my pit saved me from a small snake, a frog (lol), and a squirrel who tried to jump on me. A properly breed pit bull has no camparison. I trust my pit more than I trust humans, and I hate to see this young punks breeding pit bulls for quick money and making them fight. I live in the city now and have my 9month old red nose who I rescued on the streets.

more or less its not the guys behind the sences matching there dogs its the average knuckle head who gets the dog for all the wrong reasons people who match there dogs dont sell any to any one and keep it a low profile and dont let people know about there dogs not sticking up for them but every one thinks there going bad cause of the people who match them no its because people are over breeding them for the money and these dogs are going to homes were the kids are makeing them crazy in the head and then the parents dont want themand they end up hear there over there etc....... i feel that just as if you wanted to own a gun you would have to get permits and teseted same with these dogs you can have soime thing that loves every one and every thing or some thing that will want to kill any one or any thing and thats not how they were breed yes to fight dogs but never to bite humans you do the math they been in this country as long as its been seatled and you only get the ol might pit bull hype when in the late 80s to know so just say outa the 200 yrs there record is 80 to 90 % positive matching dogs or not but you tell me wht you think lol best dam dogs ever to walk the face of the earth point blank !

I have been breeding for a short 4 yrs now,In the mean time I have started a pitbull rescue also. And I am sad to say that I am overwhelmed with calls each month. Most are puppies that have been sat out or they are "biteing" to much...then the fear of the breed steps in and they want them out....not considering that they are "puppies" and puppies have to be taught not to do something. I have a puppy that I sold brought back to me because of this,I do not sell to people who's kids are under 5 yrs old,BUT I went against my own rule because it was a friend.....who by the way cannot control his kids, ages 2,4 and 7.The "energy" from the kid's was returned by the pup,he said it was always aggressive toward his kid's,I've had him back now for 3 day's and he has not nipped, bit or been aggressive in any way toward my kids.....so ALWAYS keep to heart your rules, you made them for a reason.I put money from the sales of my pup's to buy more kennels for the rescues...I screen people to the best of my ability, when I sell a pup I "ask" to get pictures every 6 months so I can update my site....but I can see if they are being fought this way also.If they don't send pic's the first year I will call or if local go by and see the dog,so far so good. I have turned away alot of people because of a gut feeling,I also have in my sales contract that if at any time I think one of my pup's are being fought,IWILL COME AND GET IT. and they have to sign the paper or they do not leave with a pup. Lot of precautions need to be taken when selling.we also get a vet. referance to see if other animals they have are being cared for properly....always ask first if they have any other animals....then when they decide on which one they want hit them with the vet. referance they cant' back out on it by saying they don't own any other animal now.

ppl that are after the image of owning a pit are the ones ruining it for us that are dedicated to the breed. be that as an owner or a breeder. i think the best thing we can do as a community is be responsible owners and breeders. Being rsponsible may mean many differnt things to differnt ppl but whatever it means to you stick to it, do not deviate or falter just to sell a pup b/c if money is the reason your breeding pit then your in it for the wrong reasons.
