I think it's all more of a personal preference on what you consider a "real" pit. To me a game dog is more of a real pit than bullies, but I still love my bullies, I know they are bulldog mixed with amstaff, but it's my personal preference and the style of dog I choose to breed. Some people like the big 110 plus pounders that stand 25 inches or taller, some like the 35 lbs game dogs.....it's just a matter of preference! agreed

i think old family red and similar game bloodlines are closer to the original pit than the newer line like gotti and R.E. but there is traits i like from both. But in th end you cant beat the drive of game blood.
at the same time i dont think its fair to sit here and say that one is more of a pitbull.

Do dogmen and lovers of game bloodline pits, really think that all of the bully lines came from crossing an APBT with a mastiff or other breed?
I've heard David Wilson did this for his line (Razors Edge) and this is why his older blood(line) is better, but I haven't heard much of any other breeders doing this (Ray Certified, R. Barajas, Tony from Greyline, Gaff dogs, etc.)
I always thought that half to most of these bullies came from APBTs and it's how they were bred is what created them. Feel free to correct me, if I'm wrong. Also, I can see a mastiff like breed in some of these present day bullies, but I don't see this in all bloodlines of bullies. And some "real" APBTs can grow to weigh 75-85lbs, so isn't it possible that some of these bullies are sole descendants of the "real pitbull".

I know of some pits that were 90lbs but they had alil staff in their 5th and 6th Gen. You could grow game bred pits in the 80lbs easily. Now are they game anymore, and were the parents game or were they just big? So what i think happens is just because you see 2 game breed dogs in 4 gens doesn't mean its game breed or game. Even if a game one comes out... the % is too low still to say that they are game breed. Now if I had some of that Edge,Gotti,Gaff, etc.. I would find a nice male from a game line and cross it in. I think this will help with structure [hips/breathing] and attitude. You will get some vigor as well. Then you can breed close and get the triats that you want and breed them on a more consistent basis.

For me a pup/dog regardless of weight/size has his or her first 3 generations of untested/currs ...is not a pitbull anymore, for a pitbull being paraded like a "beautyqueen" isnt my thing ;D LOL

A curr is a Pitbull that will quit while fighting.
I know of cold dogs that produce very hard animals. I've seen currs produce good animals as well. You have to believe in the breeder... and that he knows what he's doing with his dogs.

My dogs personally do not, no. I don't show dogs as I am not interested in competitions for moral reasons.
Do you actually fight dogs, or personally know any dog fighters?
Just asking cause you made the statement that you have personally seen curr's produce good dogs! To personally see something you would have to be involved in it to some degree!

i'm sure at the dog shows there are dog fighters, none of them have walked up to me and introduced them selfs as such but i'm sure they are there.
No, i dont fight dogs but my dogs will try to fight each other, if you dont watch them. Some can and some can't be around one another. Never the less they are all in shape and 2 have CH titles and a few are points away from CH. All ADBA ,thats why i ask so many questions about the ukc blood.
There's people that claimed there dog is a curr and it produce's good dogs. I have a male that was bred by accident [house dog] he will run from a cat nevertheless another dog and he produced a son that can't be around another animal. He's a very strong confident dog.
Do you have any show dogs? or are your dogs weightpull dogs?

No, I don't have any show dogs or dogs involved in shows.
I was told by Barbara from Ohio, (the UKC inspector) that I should show my female rather than breed her. but I have not done so.
There was a guy form Ohio that wanted to Co-Own one of my dogs and train it for weight pull shows... He offered to do all of the work, but I have since lost contact with him.
As for the accidental dog fights, every breeder regardless of how responsible he or she may be, will at some point experience unwanted dog fights.... I understand that greatly!
Any breeder that claims otherwise just does not know dogs! they sometimes fight and it can not always be prevented!
Don't feel bad about it!

So when you breed dogs are you breeding for show or performance? Since that judge told you your dog was show quality and that guy want to co own i was wondering in what direction is you breeding program headed?
